Listas - Online notebook and list maker for web clippings

If you’ve ever used Google Notebook, you may have not heard about the recent competing application from Microsoft called Listas. Listas is an online list manager/notebook where you can add clippings of text, images, or links from web pages without having to leave the current browser window. You can create lists, share them with others, or have multiple people collaborate on a list together.
Of course, Listas would be pretty useless if it didn’t have something to offer that Google Notebook does not already have! First off, Listas has a very different interface than Google Notebook with not only your own lists, but also links to your friends lists, lists from community members, and a tag cloud to quickly find a list.
The really good feature about Microsoft Listas that I like a lot is the list editor. The list editor allows you to add, edit, delete or modify any item on your list with ease. It also allows you to apply formatting to your lists, which you can’t do with Google Notebook, such as bold, underline, italicize, indent a list item inwards or outwards, move them up or down to sort the list, apply tags to each list item, or expand and collapse list items.
There are also a handful of keyboard shortcuts that you can use with the toolbar to quickly format the list items:
Tab - Indent item
shift + Tab - Outdent item
CTRL + N - New List
CTRL +T - Tag list item
Shift + Enter - line break
Esc - Cancel
CTRL + K - Hyperlink
Another nice feature is the ability to check out all of your friends lists from the online interface. You can share your lists with friends or with everyone, by default lists are private.
Also, you can share a list and let others collaborate on the list by adding and deleting. So next time you want to start planning a vacation with your friends ahead of time, you can create a list and let everyone add their favorite destinations to it.
Finally, Listas comes with a toolbar that you can use to quickly save any text, image, web page, or link to your list. Also, it can do cool things like save your search results when you perform a search on Google, Yahoo, etc.
Overall, Listas seems like it could be a worthy competitor of Google Notebook, but you’ll have to try it out for yourself to see. Enjoy!
