Just a short note to let you know that Lockbin 2.0 has been released. Its still free, but now includes file attachment encryption (up to 50 MB). Algorithm used for storage is now AES-256. A popular service in New Zealand & Australia: securesend.com.au.

It compresses and encrypts, and then uploads and sends. You can add a hex password to it, too.

Good solution, but you also want to try out opolis.eu, a site for sending free, secure, encrypted emails. The sender decides what the recipient of an email is allowed to do with it.

I use nicochase.com/crypt.php. This site uses RC4 in-browser, so your data never leaves your PC. Cypher keys can be shared on a back channel or separate message.

It doesn’t work – sent 2 tests from the site to my hotmail account – when you try to open them it says “an error has occurred” each time!! Anyhow, who’s to say these people aren’t reading your secret information when you type it in????

I just clicked on the Lockbin link and a Security Alert pop-up stated that the website’s security certificate is expired or not yet valid. I of course did not proceed.

Someone might want to inform this security service website that they appear to be unsecure.

Why not using GnuPG? Then you dont need any middleware.
