How to organize your school work using Notely

Notely is web application that allows students to organize their school work with To-Do lists, Calendars, class lecture notes, bookmarks, links, and lots more. This may sound scary to some people, but for kids who practically live on their computers, it’s a great way to avoid little scraps of paper with bad hand-writing!

Notely was designed by students for students and includes a whole array of tools to help reduce the clutter of papers. Notely allows students to keep track of meetings & appointments, write class notes online, keep track of homework with the Homework Organizer, and organize links, contacts (students, professors, etc), and courses.

Another nice feature is the ability to add mathematical formulas into your lecture notes, like exponents, subscripts, superscripts, etc.

Not only that, but your data is not simply stuck on Notely! After all, what’s the point of typing your class notes online, if you can’t access it any other way. Notely makes this simply by supporting the iCal format for your Notely calendar and To-Do lists, so that you can have your events viewed in Google Calendar or Outlook. You can also export lecture notes to PDF, DOC or TXT format, email them, or download them to an Excel spreadsheet.

You can also access Notely from your mobile phone by going to http://mobile.notely.net. Notely uses the Netvibes API, so you can add it to your Google homepage Netvibes page, or even on your Mac OS X dashboard. There is also a Opera widget available.

Your data on Notely is safe and secure. The data is backed up hourly, so it’s more likely your dog will eat your notebook than it crash and burn online.

And just like your can make a copy of your class notes and give it to your friends, you can share your lecture notes with other Notely friends easily. And if your friends are on FaceBook, Notely has a FaceBook app so that notes can be shared directly from FaceBook itself!

Lastly, you can upload files also including media, documents, videos, or whatever you like. You can also share the uploads with your friends.

For any student who wants to keep all of their data in one place to stay organized, Notely does a pretty good job! Check it out!
