How to create your own web site for free using Weebly

Lately a lot of people have been asking me how they can create their own web sites for free without having to register domains or get web hosting. Previously, I had written two articles on how to get a domain name/hosting and how to get free web site logos and templates that you can check out if you’re interested in doing it yourself.
However, if all of that requires too much time and too much technical knowledge than you care to acquire, you can check out a cool service that let’s you create your own website with the ease of dragging and dropping.
Weebly is free service that makes web creation easy as heck. Not only that, but if you already know a little bit about web sites, you’ll find that Weebly allows you to configure settings such as META tags so that you can optimize your site for search engines and allows you to add JavaScript code to the bottom of your pages, i.e. Google Analytics tracking code.
Using Weebly, you can either buy a new domain name instantly if you don’t already have one, use a subdomain of Weebly for free (mysite.weebly.com), or host your existing domain for free! The last feature is really nice since it means that if you already have a domain name with GoDaddy, let’s say, you can host it on Weebly for no charge! So basically you can think of Weebly as a free web hosting service also!
The interface for designing your web site is very easy to use and feature rich. You can pop in text, images, videos, Google Maps, or custom HTML into any of your pages.
You can also choose from a whole bunch of professional looking designs for your web site template. The really nice feature of Weebly is that you can simply move your mouse over each design and your web site preview will automatically be updated with the new design. So no need to click on each and every single design to see how it looks.
The other really cool feature of Weebly is that it lets you manage a blog for your web site also. This is really good because you can have both a web site and a blog hosted inside your main site. This is the preferred method for setting up a blog.
Finally, you can download your entire site as a zip archive file for backup purposes. Overall, the service is excellent considering it’s free. A really easy, yet good way to setup a new website for beginners.
