ReQall - Free Reminder Service

Posted on September 3, 2008 at 5:12 am

Have you ever forgotten something important and wondered why? There are so many things to remember on a daily basis. Business meetings, grocery shopping, and class schedules are only a few of the events during a normal week. You need a simple tool to help keep everything in working order.

Thankfully, the Internet can help you fulfill this need. After a few minutes of searching, you’ll easily find something that will suit you. Cell phones, calendars, emails, and even instant messaging can be used as helpful tools for remembering your special events.

You have recall my previous article on Sandy personal email assistant, which you can use to setup free reminders for birthdays, etc or Jott, a really cool service where you can create reminders with your voice. Make sure to read those also and compare it to another tool called reQall, which I have reviewed below.

ReQall is a tool to conveniently help you remember what you need to. Instead of worrying about forgetting a business meeting or the due date for a class assignment, you can let ReQall do what it does best. Not only is this service easy to use, but it is also easy to access in a variety of ways. You can quickly use the web interface version to keep track of things.

Create shopping lists, To Do lists, or personal notes with a few entered details. As a user, you can customize the reminders according to your preferences. They will be sent as text messages, instant messages or emails. In order to remain in a productive mode, have your To Do list automatically sent to you at the beginning of the day.

One of the best features of this service is the downloadable version. If you have an iPhone or iPod touch, then you can download a version of ReQall to it for better organization. You’ll instantly have access to the voice to text recorder after installing it. This would come in handy when you are in a hurry and need to quickly create a simple voice reminder.  Accessing ReQall on the web via your iPhone  can also be done, but it won’t give you some of the extra features included in the downloaded version.

Mozilla Firefox users will also have quick access to ReQall via their browser. Once you install the Firefox addon and restart the browser window, Reqall will be ready for use. You’ll be able to create ToDo lists in a second and avoid opening another application. Having this feature built into your Firefox browser window is one of the easiest ways to stay organized. If you find an interesting website or image, then just right click it. The “Add to ReQall” button will be available for you to select. The information will be saved as a note or a ToDo item.

ReQall is totally free and does not require you to sign up for a package to enjoy its services. Just register for an account, select the ways you’d like to use it, and then get started. Before you know it, you won’t worry about missing out on something special. Your daily tasks, lists, and schedules will be right on track with this handy little tool. Give ReQall a try the next time you’re searching for something to straighten out your busy life.
