Free online PC computer-tech and software help from real people

Looking for some free online computer help with a new piece of software you purchased recently? Or having some computer problems and need some quick online support from real individuals who may have already experienced a similar issue? I have found that the best online tech support sites are the ones that actually have real people answering specific questions rather than just having FAQ’s, etc.

If you having an issue or problems using or troubleshooting software products, whether they are desktop apps or web apps, you can check out a really cool site that provides customer support for free with real people answering your questions.

GetSatisfication is a people-powered customer support service for just about any company of product. Can’t figure out how to use switch into manual mode on your new digital SLR camera or maybe you don’t understand how to create your own playlist of last.FM? Whatever your problem may be, you can post it up on GetSatisfication and have it answered by other readers like yourself.

For example, just yesterday I wrote about a really cool web service called Sandy, which acts like a personal email assistant by helping you remember things. If you look at the front page of GetSatisfication, you’ll see one of the products that people are getting help with is the I want Sandy web site. There are actually 274 topics already on how problems and issues with that service.

As you can see, the topics are broken down into smaller categories, such as Questions, Ideas, Problems, and Talk. So it’s a great place to not only find solutions to computer problems, but also to present ideas on new features or just to discuss the product or company.

And what’s really cool about GetSatisfication is that a lot of the companies listed on the site actually have employees who are joined and can answer your questions! You can see in the image above and the bottom left, there are three employees, two official reps and the CEO himself! That’s pretty damn neat.

You’ll find lots of major companies that already have profiles on GetSatisfication including Twitter, O’Reilly, FreeAgent Central, Plasq, Soup, Orange Labs, Timbuk2, FaceBook, HelloTxt, Pownce, Google, Ma.gnolia, Nikon, Activision, Nintendo, and tons more!

Previously, I had written about another service called Fixya, that is similar to GetSatisfication in that it provides free support for computer and electronic problems and issues. Fixya has a lot of info also on many popular products and includes manuals, guides, etc. The one thing I like about GetSatisfaction over Fixya is the fact that many companies have their own employees listed as helpers.

Also, you can check out a service called Mosio that allows you to ask questions and get answers directly from your cell phone.

Definitely worth checking out and keeping in your bookmarks if you usually have lots of questions on how to use software applications. Enjoy!
