Find Any Web Site’s Host

Finding a decent host for your Web site is a daunting task. Some hosts limit bandwidth, or charge penalties for using extra bandwidth. Most hosts have a limit as to how many MB or GB of data you may store on their servers. Then, there is the Linux vs. Microsoft server debate…
One of the best ways to find a good host is to learn what hosts Web sites similar to yours are using. A Web site called HostLogr.com can determine this information instantaneously from any URL.
Using HostLogr.com is completely easy. Type the URL of any site in the search box and then click the magnifying glass.
Immediately, a report appears stating the Web site’s host, a link to the host’s Web site, the site’s IP address and a map displaying the area in which the host’s server is located.
As an added feature, HostLogr allows users to subscribe to an email or RSS service to tell when a particular Web site changes hosts. So, if the competition finds a better hosting deal, you can follow suit.
Of course, there are many other reasons to find out what company is hosting a Web site. In our litigious society, hosts are often sued to remove copyrighted or particularly offensive material when a Web site owner fails to respond.
HostLogr.com works very well for the service it provides. The site appears to be advertisement supported, but the advertisements are not overly intrusive. The host report loads quickly, with a fair amount of accuracy, though the mapping function fails to recognize servers in multiple locations.
