Find out which low carb, vegetarian, fat, or protein health diet plans work

I write mostly about computer tips and technology on my blog, but I also like to talk about other topics that can help people in their daily lives where they can access this information through the web instead of books, instructional tapes, etc. The best part about Web 2.0 in the last five years is the ability to create huge communities of people that can share personal experiences and stories to create databases of useful knowledge in an instant! Prime example of that is Wikipedia!
One cool site that I thought a lot of people might be interested in is FatSecret. Plain and simple, it’s a place for people to come and find out which diet plans actually work on an individual level. It’s definitely much easier to believe a thousand fellow dieters than it is to believe one slim and trim guy in an infomercial! Using the vast knowledge and statistics collected by the site, you can make much more informed decisions when it comes to starting a new diet.
Not only that, you can create your own personalized diet in FatSecret and find recipes that are aligned with the diet that you end up choosing, such as South Beach, Atkins, etc. The site is completely independent and unbiased, so you can be assured that the numbers are not recommendations, but instead just statistics for the community. They are also not affiliated with any diet plan or diet company.
FatSecret consists of four main sections: Diets, Kitchen, Community, and My fatsecret.
List of the most popular health diets
Here you can find out which diets are working for the community at large. It’s based on the registrations and what diet was chosen by that member. For each diet, you can click on one of the icons to get more information about the diet, such as basic info, recipes, user journals, diet tips, discussions groups, and other members who are on the diet.
You’ll also see the average weekly weight loss for the members on that particular diet.
Latest recipes from community members
The Kitchen tab is the place to go to get some really nice recipes from other members on the site. Each recipe not only sounds really good, but has all the information that you would want about it, such as calories, fat, carbs, protein, and the member ratings by diet for that particular recipe.
You can also quickly perform a search for a recipe based on the meal type, keywords, or by diet.
Community journals, posts, and tips
The community section is where the real power of the site comes in. You can read through people’s experiences with a particular diet, what they liked, what they hated, how it changed them, etc, etc. There are also tons of tips on what kinds of food to eat, what to stay away from, how not to heat things over a certain temperature, and other interesting stuff you might not know off the top of your head!
My FatSecret
Finally, if you really like the site a lot, you may as well join for free and track your performance in terms of weight loss, experiences, etc to share with others! You can even create your own diet and share it with others. You can also get more member information about which diets are doing the best.
Definitely check out FatSecret and find healthy and good diets, nutritional diets, vegetable diets, carbohydrate diets, protein and fat diets, and lots more! Enjoy!

No fad diets work as well as the creators promise. The only thing you need to do to lose weight is to increase the gap between how many calories you burn (exercising) and how many you take in (eating). Bump up the amount of exercise you do and reduce the amount of food and drink you take in, but do it gradually and don’t yo-yo, nuff said.
