A browser based os is one of the dumbest ideas i’ve ever heard of and will never take off.

If you’re running the web based os through a browser, that means the computer you’re using already has an os – duh. Why would you need a web based one?

All you really need are apps and a place to store your files. Google docs beat them to the punch.

Nice little scam there ive known 4 or 5 people who were tsupied neough to enter there yahoo name and pass and got there email stolen from fanbox he spam there friends. if your an idiot by all means sign up for fan box today

Sounds coold but then there will be hackers that will hack in to it and steal peoples perosnlan information ie credit card numbers!

FanBox is a shady company that seeds their membership database with purchased data, spams people with fake invitations from fake profiles, reserves the right to impersonate their members to grow their database, send “premium” (meaning YOU pay) SMS messages to your phone, and basically screw you over any possible way they can make a $.10. If you give them your passwords they will spam all of your contacts without asking.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR FANBOX.COM. They are EVIL. You have been warned.

Fanbox’s concept is indeed very interesting. The technology behind it is also cool, kind of like a mashup of all the BIG things right now on the internet. BUT, I highly suspect its background, the company which used to be called sms.ca

It was known to spam a lot. And even the Fanbox invitation method is a bit shady. Automatic membership by “request your password by email”? Asking for your mail contacts to spam your friends?

Damn, this is some classy spamming.

I agree, I think that online webbased operating systems could be what we will be all using in the near future.
There are many versions out at the moment and some are much better than others.
