Express yourself and communicate with others in fun ways using Sketchcast

Personally, I love web sites that allow you to express yourself in cool and new ways, such as two web sites that I reviewed previously, Animoto and Graphita. Another cool site I want to mention is called Sketchcast and it takes an old concept and merges it with cool Web 2.0 technology.

Sketchcast is a new way to communicate online with others by giving you the ability to “sketch” on a virtual whiteboard and record it along with a voice narration if you like. The best thing about it is that you can then take your sketch video and share it with others by embedding it on any web site or blog. And if you really love to create sketches, you can even create your own “sketchcast” and have people subscribe to it via RSS! Pretty neat! Check out my sketch below:

Of course, my sketch is quite horrible, but it was created on my laptop using the touchpad! NOT FUN! However, this is definitely very cool for anyone who has a graphics tablet or supreme control over the mouse! You can use Sketchcast for a variety of purposes including creating a tutorial, draw funny stuff, explain a math formula, create a cartoon, draw your wife with a giant face, and lots more creative things! :)Also, don’t be tricked by the fact that I used all black colors, you can choose from a giant palette of colors!

And thankfully, the person who created this allows you to TYPE text into the sketch also so you don’t have to waste time trying to draw words on the screen! So if you’re into drawing or just want to play around, check out Sketchcast!
