Create to-do lists, task lists, and reminders using your voice

Wouldn’t it be cool if you could convert or transcribe your voice into email and text messages from your cell phone? Have you ever been stuck in traffic, talked to a few people on the phone and then realized you need to remember a few important things from those conversations?
For most people, including me, this would mean either trying to jott stuff down on a napkin while driving or trying to manually type it all into my cell phone calendar, both of which make you more of a hazardous driver!
That’s where a really cool web service called Jott comes into play. Jott is awesome because you can basically call up a toll-free number, have you cell phone automatically recognized, record a message in your voice, and then have that message sent to either one person or an entire group of people via email or text message! Jott will transcribe your voice message into text for you and then send off messages to everyone.
Jott is very versatile, however, and can be used to do a lot more things. Here’s what people use Jott for:
Jott can also be used to manage other web services, such as tumblr, 30 Boxes, Remember the Milk, Mosio, Jaiku, Sandy email assistant, Amazon, Google Calendar and more! It’s absolutely amazing how you can use this service to greatly enhance other services you might already be using.
For example, if you use Google Calendar a lot, you could be at work and quickly call up Jott and tell it to setup a dinner arrangement in the future just like you could type it on Google’s website and it would automatically be added to your calendar! Sweet!
The best part about the whole thing is that it’s free!! No charges and you get to call a toll-free number also, so not phone charges either. Of course, if you call during peak time for your plan, you will be charged minutes for that.
Jott is a very useful service and one of the few that actually make a significant difference on a day to day basis. The fact that you can transcribe you voice into text and have it sent via email, to your blog as a post, to an online to-do list manager, etc is simply fabulous! Enjoy!

I agree, Jott is fantastic. There are also great services that do the reverse – take other people’s voicemails sent to you, and turn them into texts that get sent to your phone (and email for archives). GotVoice.com is one such product. If you like Jott, try GotVoice as well.
