Here’s a cool site that makes creating really nice greeting cards or postcards super easy! It’s a great way to use your photos and videos to create really nice looking cards or slideshows! It’s basically a combination of greeting cards services where you pick pre-created cards and a desktop scrapbooking application where you can personalize cards! You pick a design or create your own and then personalize the card with text and pictures! And it’s all on the web and all for free (well, at least the basic service).

You only have to install a small little application that is used to connect to the SmileBox servers in order to design your cards. It’s a great concept because new designs and templates can be added without having to download anything like you would have to if you had a desktop application. The application is so small simply because it is an interface only and all of the content is stored on the SmileBox servers.

Once you install the application, you’ll be prompted to create an account:

And that’s it! Now you have the power of a full fledged scrapbooking software on your computer without a huge installation! And the best part is that you can simply install the small application on another computer, log into your account, and have all of your designs and templates ready for use!

The interface is very clean and very responsive. It felt like a Web 2.o interface with drag and drop features and context menus! I was very impressed. It has a TON of designs that you can use, so there is no way you’ll be able to exhaust their catalog. If you’re not interested in anything they have, you can create your own designs also. Uploading of pictures was also very fast and very easy. You don’t have to worry about resizing your pictures, the program does that for you automatically.

Overall, a very cool program and a very nice way to send personalized greeting cards to your friends and family.
