I also like the speed dial extension for Firefox. However, with Chrome and IE 8, you really don’t even need those add-ons anymore. Chrome’s new tab is already loaded with your most commonly visited sites and that’s how Suggested Sites works in IE 8.

I absolutely LOVE only2clicks! I reviewed it on my Blog (which mainly focuses on the “simple and easy”) a couple weeks ago and made it my home page, as well! While it is a bit “short” on “directions” (the green + sign you mentioned is a good example)and some of the other pages (in bright orange and green) may be a little hard on “old eyes”…(mine anyway!) it is wonderfully useful!
There are far too many positives to this service (like the fact that you can have as many pages/categories as you like!) to let a couple of negatives get in the way! I can’t say enough good about it and highly recommend it!

It's not exactly like speed dial, because it would presumably work on any machine on which you can get a net connection as opposed to your personal installation of Firefox. There is an alternative that is a little more involved and would require you altering DNS on the machine you happen to be using, but it also adds a lot of other useful features such as anti-phishing, adult filtering, etc etc and that's OpenDNS. I've written about it a couple of times on my blog. db

I think this is similar to the Speed dial extension for firefox, but it allows only 9 sites I think.

It’s interesting that within one week three of my favorite blogs addressed an issue of the bookmark synchronization, each suggesting a different service (see http://cybernetnews.com/2007/10/27/cybernotes-keep-your-bookmarks-organized-online-with-quick-bookmarks/ and http://lifehacker.com/software/featured-firefox-extension/keep-up-with-your-unread-bookmarks-with-readeroo-315538.php ).
