Convert PDF to Word document online for free

Way back in the days, I wrote an article on how to convert a PDF to Word, XLS, or JPEG format using a couple of free online tools. In that article, I said you could use Zamzar.com to convert any PDF document to Word format.

However, I noticed that many people have been having issues with Zamzar, such as never getting the converted documents in their email! That is a problem. Luckily, they are not the only web site that can convert PDF docs to Word format.

ConvertPDFToWord, as the name implies, does only one thing. The service is currently free and works very quickly. Just click Browse and choose your PDF file and then click the Convert and Download button.

Wait a few seconds or minutes, depending on how large your PDF file is and you’ll then get the normal dialog box to download the file.

I tested it out on a couple of my own PDF files and it works most of the time. Note that it will NOT work if the PDF file includes and image of the text. If you create a PDF file by scanning in documents via a scanner, it will not work.

It only works on PDF files that were created by printing a Word file to PDF format using some kind of PDF writer program. If you have a piece of paper with text on it and you scan it using a copier, etc that auto converts to PDF format, it won’t work because that text is now an image.

The cool thing about this site is that it’s instantaneous (no need to wait for an email like with Zamzar) and there are no restrictions on how many files you can convert or on how big the files can be.

Overall, a useful site to bookmark in case you ever come across a PDF file you need to edit. Convert to Word, make your edits and then convert back to PDF format. Enjoy! Source: MakeUseOf
