Do you use your computer as a research tool? If so, then you understand that sometimes you need great organizational skills to gather useful information. As you locate the data you’re searching for, you’ll need access to necessary tools to keep everything secure and within reach.

Your work life will become much easier if you’re able to instantly grab the vital information and move on to the next valuable resource. With access to a highspeed Internet connection and a reliable computer, you’ll be able to find numerous applications to put your work needs in order. Spending a large amount of money won’t be a requirement when you have instant access to free applications being offered via the Internet.

Zoho Notebook is a free online tool that allows you to gather Internet data from multiple outlets. You can quickly add content into one place and share it easily with others. The user-friendly interface doesn’t require an extensive amount of learning. Instead of having to manage information in several online places, you can place it all into one convenient spot.

Zoho Notebook works just like a traditional notebook that you may use to gather important data. Doing research online requires organization and this simple application can make that an easier task to complete. Although there are other popular applications that are used for the same purpose, it still contains more than enough competitive features to make it worthwhile.

Creating your very own Zoho Notebook will only take a few basic steps. Add interesting text, audio files, video, RSS feeds, and a few other formats. This application possesses powerful multi-media features and capabilities. One of Zoho Notebook’s most useful features is its capability to share only pieces of a certain document.

Instead of being restricted to showing every single detail of a page, you’ll have enough control to show only what you want to. Having complete control over the type of information you share is a major bonus.

Since Zoho Notebook is a part of the Zoho Office Suite, you’ll be able to easily integrate it into other Zoho aplications. Collaborate on one document and track all of its recent changes. Being able to see who has made a necessary change is vital to any productive work tool. Emailing documents back and forth will only cause you to become lost and unorganized.

Another convenient feature included in Zoho Notebook is the capability of taking snapshots of web pages for later viewing. To get started, just install a Firefox plug-in for Zoho Notebook. After installing it, you’ll be able to right click onto any web page to grab some information.

Once this has been done, choose to capture the entire page or just a small region of the page. Your captured data will be immediately inserted into the Zoho Notebook for you to work with. In order to have full access to all of Zoho Notebook’s features, you’ll also need to be completely logged into your account.

The next time you’d like to research information on the Internet, consider using Zoho Notebook. You’ll be able to gain access from virtually anywhere with an Internet connection.

I was using Zoho notes for a while and I agree that it’s fantastic for capturing research data while you are on the computer. It’s UI is fantastic.

However, I tried to use it for transcriptions – meeting notes, classes, or just for a very quick note and it wasn’t all that speedy.

If you want a pure text note taking solution that is absurdly quick, barebones, and focuses on data entry check out http://www.ayenotes.com for taking notes online.

AyeNotes was wired for text only notes specifically when you are transcribing. Its key feature is that it provides clips for frequently used strings. These can be templates you type, terms you use (action items, research, etc.), or it can be programmer-esque things like HTML and Markdown.

The site also autosaves the work and provides keystroke. If you have the site remember the login, everytime you go to http://www.ayenotes.com to take notes online you are dropped right into the new note screen. To get your data out, you can email or download the note in multimarkdown format.
