Capture video and audio of your screen using Freez Screen Video Capture

Have you encountered a time when you wished you could capture a live video and audio on your computer? This will give you a lot of use like being able to record a program’s screen animation or if you want to have a Tivo-like capability to capture any video and audio.
Earlier I wrote about two similar programs: Debut, a free video and screen capture program and ScreenToaster, another free software to create video tutorials. Here is another one that you can use.
With Freez Screen Video Capture, you can capture a designated area of your screen along with any audio coming out of your soundcard.
To get the software, go to http://www.smallvideosoft.com/ then download the installer. Install it on your Windows PC. Below are the steps on how to capture a part of your screen:
Step 1: Click the Record button
Step 2: Position the capture border to any part of your screen. Drag the mouse to adjust the width and height:
Step 3: It will begin recording as soon as you choose the screen area on step 2. Only the chosen area will be recorded on the video. To stop the recording, click the Stop button:
Step 4: Identify the path and filename of the AVI movie file where you want your generated AVI to be created:
That should get you going with the basic audio and video capturing process of this software. To adjust the quality of the captured audio and video, use the options window:
The options window will give you a lot of possibilities from choosing a video compressor type (i.e. Windows video, Divx, etc) to audio format (i.e. MP3, OGG Vorbis, etc). If you want to get more definition, choose a higher quality video by adjusting the quality bar to the highest and using an audio format of 44 Khz and above. Just remember that the higher your quality settings, the larger your movie file.
Freez Screen Video Capture does not have any unnecessary bells and whistles and it gets the job done very well. It is so easy to use that it has only a few buttons on it’s main window. It also doesn’t have a user’s manual so it speaks of how much it could easily be picked up by beginning users at a short amount of time.
Ben Carigtan shows you how it’s done.
