Bookmark web pages to your email using toread

I love browsing the Internet trying to find interesting articles to read on technology, but I usually end up finding TOO MANY things to read and my Favorites list has become huge and unmanageable!
I installed a cool tool for Firefox called ScrapBook, which allows you to download web pages to your computer and view it locally when you’re offline, however that also ended up with the same problem!
I could use a social bookmarking site to store all of the links that I am interested in, but don’t have the time now to read, however I find that I simply do not visit those sites enough and end up forgetting about it!
That only leads to one solution: send interesting web pages to myself via email! I always check my email from my office, home, or even while I’m on to road on my mobile phone, so it makes sense that I should send stuff to read to my email account.
toread is a free bookmarking service which allows you to “bookmark” a web page to your email account rather than into a list in your browser! Now that’s cool! So next time you are on LifeHacker and there’s a cool tip you want to read about later, just click on the toread bookmarklet and that page is stripped down and sent to your email.
Here’s the advantage to using a service like toread over other possible ways: first, you click the button and your page is sent to your email, that’s it! No entering your email address, no pop up screen, nothing. Secondly, you don’t have to worry about entering titles, tags, ratings, comments, etc like you do for social bookmarking sites.
Finally, you don’t have to search through tons of bookmarks that are all disorganized! Another reason why having your pages sent to you via email is better is because you can use an existing search tool to quickly find saved content. For example, if you have Google Desktop installed and you’re using Outlook or Gmail for your email, then all of your emails will be indexed and you’ll be able to search all of those saved web pages easily!
To use toread, type in your email address and click on Start Now.
Click on the link in the email you receive and you’ll be brought to the bookmarklet page. Right-click on the link and choose Bookmark this Link. You can also drag and drop the link onto your links bar in Firefox or Internet Explorer.
For Firefox, you need to go to View, then Toolbars, and click on Bookmarks Toolbar in order to drag and drop the link. You can then simply click on the button to send yourself the webpage via email!
Of course, if you already receive a thousand emails a day and can’t manage your email, this certainly will not help!
But if you’re performing some research on a specific topic, toread is a good way to organize the content in a easily accessible fashion. Enjoy! Source: FriedBeef

Good idea mate,
However I find that http://www.netvibes.com helps me with all those websites and you can even categorise them.
Regards.
I might try this out. Of course with all the pages I save for later, my email will get flooded haha
In my opinion, the good thing about this is that you don’t have to enter tags etc. to read a page later. The downside is that if you do it too much, your mailbox will look like an overflow rss feed reader.
Thanks for this. I was looking for a way to quickly send articles to my Gmail, without having to compose messages manually.
excellent ,Thanks for the post
