BirthdayTime - An easy online way to remember your friends and families birthdays

Everyone has lots of birthdays to remember and if you have tried to write them down or record them in your paper calendar, only to forget to look at your calendar or PDA, then BirthdayTime might be the site for you. It’s goal is very simple and there’s really not much to do on the site once you set it up, but that’s the beauty of it.

Once you create an account on the site, you can either type in all of your contacts birthday’s yourself or you can import your contacts email addresses from Hotmail, Yahoo, GMail, AOL, and MSN and let BirthdayTime send off an email asking everyone for their birthdays. It’s very simple and a convenient way to get all the birthdays at one time. Probably no one will feed bad about it either if you just send it to everyone on the list, even if you already know their birthday.

And if you don’t want to enter all the birthdays manually, and also don’t want to give your email login information to a site that has a fat big on it’s homepage, then by all means copy the email template provided and just paste that into a new email in your current email system and send it off to everyone.

If you click on My Account, you can change your settings for the first alert and second alert. Currently, the site only provides alerts to your email address, but I’m sure eventually it will include SMS to your mobile phone, which I would prefer since I don’t have my laptop with me every minute of the day.

One other nice feature that the developers added is Add Holidays, which basically lets your choose a country or a religion and gives you a nice list of all the holidays that you can add to your calendar and get reminders for.

I’m Indian as you can guess by the holidays listed above. Lastly, of course, you can send e-cards from the site itself if you want. The nice thing here is that you can choose the date you would want the card sent, so if you REALLY want to make sure the person gets something even if you forget, then pick a card, pick their birthday as the date you want it sent and you’re set! So you might just shoot yourself in the foot when someone calls you and tells you thanks for the card and you’re like “What card?”

Just to be fair, there is also another site called BirthdayAlarm that pretty much does the same thing and may actually be better than BirthdayTime. BirthdayAlarm seems to have a bigger collection of e-cards in addition to the fact that you can send flowers and other gifts also from the site. One thing I liked about BirthdayAlarm was that the gift section is not only broken down into categories by gift type (sweets, albums, etc), but also by price range, brand, and store!

No excuses left to forget someone’s birthday now! :)
