7 Best Image RSS Feeds

With the ability to use an RSS feed to rotate our wallpaper with Windows 7, finding a good RSS image feed becomes the holy grail for many of us. There are an endless supply of image RSS feeds thanks to sites like Flickr and Photobucket where anyone’s vacation photos can become an RSS stream.
In this article, we have tried to avoid streams like those, and have instead found a collection of RSS feeds of striking image quality from sites all over the Web.
1. Getty Images
Getty offers one of the largest assortments of individual image RSS feeds on the Web. You can subscribe to editorial images in categories such as entertainment, sports, news or features, or you can subscribe to creative images or the highest customer rated images. Something here will likely please everybody.
2. NASA

Nasa’s Image of the Day feed displays a new space image every day. The pictures are of great quality, and feature planets, stars, the moon and other celestial phenomenon.
3. Live Science

Live Science’s Image of the Day shows a new science image, or images, every day. The assortment includes everything from plankton to lightning.
4. Astronomy Picture of the Day

Astronomy Picture of the Day is technically another Nasa feed, but the pictures are different. While Nasa’s feed might have the occasional space shuttle or satellite, Astronomy’s feed is completely celestial bodies.
5. W3 Streams

W3 Streams is another site with multiple choices. They offer nature, travel, space, weather, science feeds for those who enjoy perusing with a reader, but they also have a collection specifically for wallpapers.
6. New England Journal of Medicine

NEJM’s Image of the Week shows a new medical related image each weeks. Sometimes these are photographs, other times these are illustrations.
7. Botany Photo of the Day
