Personally for me and my business I prefer Team Viewer above all. For the main reason it is a lifetime licence, does everything I need and they have excellent support.

I am looking for a network Desktop Control Software. I have tried Teamviewer and it is not what I am looking for. I have also had a look at all of the ones on the list quickly, but they’re not really what I need. If anybody knows any network desktop control programs, please help.

This is a great list but confusing as to what is right for my needs. I have looked at many of theses but nothing meets my requirements. I currently have a pc with VMware installed, that runs a single bespoke software. I want up to 6 people to be able to remote in to this machine and be able to update the values together within the bespoke software. To be able to do this they would need to use the same windows logon. Ideally, I would like to have some control in what else they have access to when they remote into the machine.

It should be free or cheap to use and not be system resource heavy, etc.

This is a nice list of remote machine desktop sharing tools. I have tried both Teamviewer and yuuguu in past. Yuugguu is free but does not allow you to have more than 100 minutes of connection in a month.

I am now using Microsoft’s SharedView, it is free and can be used any number of times but i am not able to actually take control of the remote machine using it. But since, i read this article today, i m going to try other ones mentioned here for my purpose and i hope they all are free!!

Thanks a lot for the info. I’m using Netviewer quite some days .It’s good,free and included VOIP.the only problem is, there’s a considerable audio lag.So, we’ve chosen skype for audio. The audio in skype is breaking and not continuous when it use along with netviewer. It might be band width problem. Can anybody suggest a free software,easy to use, an audio without lag and utilizes minimal net resources.(less bandwidth)

There are a number of remote access software on the net but Zoho differs in the sense that it is a solid respected company into not only remote access but a whole lot more (online applications like invoicing, hr, recruitment, office & more) required for every business. They offer a very good set of diagnostic tools for analyzing your client’s pc’s applications, drivers, event viewer etc. You can also chat while transferring files at the same time. I tried it and liked it very much. And the best thing is that it has a few free sessions every month. have a look at assist.zoho.com

OK, great post/comments.

Here’s my criteria (so many options presented here so those with actual experience of their recommendations would be most helpful):

- I don’t want the person I’m sharing my desktop with to have to download software (they will be clients)
- Small business use (don’t need multiple licenses)
- Easy to use
- Don’t need to give control to others – simply need to share my desktop
