I would like to ‘remove’ certain values of right click menu on Start Button. There few things that are useful and I need them, but others should go away. Any suggestions as to how to keep some and discard others?

Fine information -

Now, explain how to change this menu “order”.
I do NOT want ‘delete’ next to ‘rename’. I want to move ‘delete’ to a different position in the right click menu.

I cannot find anyone who can explain how to do this. All I get is how to add/remove items.

Hold off on those other suggestions till you give this one a gander.

This is about the fastest, most uncomplicated, and concise utility for editing right click menus I have ever seen.

Ahh thanks! I was able to edit the right-click menu and add some scripts that I run all the time. Very nice.

I want right click on desktop to create ms office 97-2003 file extension is .doc but create default is (.DOCX) in office 2007

This method is very incomplete. It lists 2 registry locations as the sole means of cleaning of the right context menu, when there are literally dozens of entries in the registry.

I followed the method above and my right click menu was left untouched.

How about being more thorough and specific in the future

I had to actually change the registries in two areas in order to remove some of the things from the right click menu

I had to disable the entries in the one you mentioned above…
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\

and in this one

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\
