How to Watermark Photos and Images

Posted on May 7, 2010 at 5:32 am

Earlier, we wrote a post on How to Color Splash Photos. That tutorial demonstrated a cool technique for adding uniqueness to your favorite photos and images. However, if you are going to post your own freshly edited photos to the web, you may want to consider adding a watermark as well.

This will prevent people from stealing your images, and using them as exclusive images on their own website.

A popular example of watermarking can be viewed at the popular website iStockphoto.com. Nearly every photo on iStockphoto is watermarked with the iStockphoto logo and an X pattern.

Adding a watermark or logo to a photo is a very easy thing to do. For this tutorial we will be using the website photobucket.com because it is free for use, simple to use, and everyone can use it without needing to download/purchase software.
