In the past when I have imported mail from one account to a new account all emails have appeared with the date of import as the date of the email and not the original date of the emails.

For future reference how can I avoid this happening?

Thanks for this info. I have an AOL account, but I feel like I am ancient when I tell people my email address. I am making over the switch to a GMail account.
