Sicurezza o stupidity?

Ho un amico, denominiamo questo amico Fred, ora Fred sono un esperto del pc, lui compro tutti gli scomparti, visito tutti i giusti Web site e nel suo tempo libero, quando non sta effettuando il suo commercio normale come decoratore interno, spendo ogni minuto che ripara con il suo pc, o i pc parlanti con i suoi altri amici esperti.
Ho schioccato intorno per visitare Fred alcuni giorni fa ed ha cominciato dirmi che circa il nuovo pc stava andando sviluppare la settimana prossima, questa lo sorpresesse, poichè aveva sviluppato soltanto precedentemente un nuovo alcuni mesi. Gli ho chiesto perchè ha avuto bisogno di un altro nuovo pc? Mi ha detto che quello vecchio fosse troppo lento. Ho trovato questa sorpresa, come Fred compra sempre le parti più costose di rendimento elevato disponibili sul mercato, lui aggiorno ogni volta che un nuovo modello è introdotto e generalmente spendo una piccola fortuna sui suoi giocattoli.
Ho offerto di dare un'occhiata al pc del Fred per lui, per vedere se potessi scoprire perchè ha pensato fosse così lento, Fred guardato me nel senso Fred quando pensa stia comunicando dalla mia estremità posteriore, anche se Fred sa gli ho speso la mia intera vita, compreso una decade nel supporto corporativo del pc, lui realmente non penso che conosca qualche cosa, poichè non compro tutti gli scomparti e non visito tutti i giusti Web site.
Fred lo ha seduto giù al suo pc, ancora dante lo che “yeah a destra„ sguardo. Che cosa ho trovato ero qualcosa abbastanza scioccante, ho installato e l'operatore sul suo pc era un suite pieno di sicurezza del Internet (Norton), nessun problema con quello, ma inoltre ha avuto un funzionamento separato di applicazione del anti-virus (AVG), con la protezione di Microsoft e stava facendo funzionare il quotidiano Annuncio-Informato, lui inoltre ha fatto la parete refrattaria di Windows inserire. Così per sommare le cose in su che ha avuto:
Anti-Virus x 2
Parete refrattaria x 2
Anti-Malware x 4
Ciò è giusta una situazione ridiculous e stava mangiando le risorse di sistema ad un tasso incredibile. Quando ho chiesto a Fred perchè ha avuto tante applicazioni di sicurezza funzionare, appena mi ha dato altro di quegli sguardi e detto dovrei sapere che la sicurezza del pc era un'edizione grande attualmente. Ho dato appena in su alla fine, dopo tutto, Fred è l'esperto, deve essere mentre compra tutti gli scomparti e visita tutti i giusti Web site.
Si presenta a me che la gente non capisce appena che cosa è richiesto per assicurare i sistemi ad un livello accettabile. Così sto andando riguardare i tre principi fondamentali qui sotto.
Parete refrattaria - là è là, discutibilmente una parete refrattaria libera grande prodotto fuori il disponibile migliore e congettura che cosa? You already have it installed, that’s right, the standard Windows Firewall is excellent, I cannot see any reason why anybody should feel they need to replace it. Ok it doesn’t have a pretty front end, it doesn’t bother you with popup windows telling you it’s doing it’s job every two minutes, it just works.
Anti-Virus - I used to be a big AVG Free fan, but the recent changes to the application have made me drop it, it is just getting too fat. I have switched to Avast! now, as it is a nice thin application and does the job well.
Anti-Malware - Microsoft Defender is another excellent piece of software, I have to recommend it, I cannot see any reason to use a 3rd party application when Microsoft offer a product that is integrated into the OS.
And that is ALL you need, no expensive all-in-one package with all the bells and whistles, almost no administrative overhead, and all using a minimal amount of system resources.
I have NEVER had a virus, I don’t do anything that could cause me to become infected, as always, sensible use is the best form of security. In a similar fashion I often do not enable my firewall, as the chances of somebody choosing my IP address out of the millions on-line and then finding a security vulnerability in my OS are so remote as to almost be impossible.
Security software companies are really creaming it in with all the hype that surrounds PC security these days, they love people like Fred, who buy all the magazines and visit all the right websites, the very same magazines and sites that are receiving advertising revenue from the security software developers. Figure the rest out for yourselves.

I couldn’t agree more! When someone tells me their PC is slow, I first ask if they remember paying for security software. If they say they don’t know, I delete ALL security bloat, put on AVG 8, and make sure windows defender and firewall are running.
Usually this makes a big difference and is a good start.

Oh my god, I used to know such a “Fred” guy myself - and he drove me up the wall with his stupidity. In the end I always laughed hen he had a virus or trojan yet again, or when he wasn’t able to actually work on his computer because the bloody thing was busy crashing or doing god-knows-what.
Some people just can’t be helped.
