How to send and receive emails from your cell or mobile phone for free

Don’t have a corporate Blackberry but wish you could receive your emails on your mobile phone? There have been many occasions when it’s proved quite useful for me to have my emails forwarded as text messages to my Verizon cell phone. Of course, trying to setup email access on my LG phone is close to impossible and would cost me an extra $20 a month for web access, etc.
That’s where a cool service called TeleFlip comes into play. Teleflip is a web service that basically allows you to access your email from your mobile phone. It’s mobile email for everyone who doesn’t have the luxury of a Blackberry. So next time you’re heading out on a hiking trip or to a party or anywhere that you can’t access your trusty computer, you can use Teleflip to forward all of your emails to your cell.
The great thing is that it doesn’t take any time to setup! There are no downloads required and you don’t have to make any changes to your cell phone plan, like Internet access, etc. The service, however, only works in the United States and you’ll have to pay any charges for receiving text messages for your plan.
The other really cool feature of Teleflip is that you can get email from only people you CHOOSE. This is great because if you’re someone who gets a crap load of spam, you certainly don’t want all of your spam to be forwarded to your mobile phone also! The ability to filter which emails you would want sent to your phone makes Teleflip very practical for normal users.
The service is free (except for the text messaging charges) and you can quickly respond by sending a text message back to the email address via your phone.
Teleflip is a great service, but is not the only one out there. Teleflip uses the SMS service, which has limitations and therefore may not display your ENTIRE email message. You can check out two other services that do something similar, but require data plans for your phone.
Consilient Push is also free and runs on over 400 mobile devices. You can be notified of a new email via SMS or via the mobile desktop. The cool thing about this service is that it is a full-fledged app that you download onto your mobile phone for checking and reading emails. Again, this requires that you have a data plan with your cell phone.
The other service that is pretty good is Emoze. Emoze not only lets you send and receive emails from your mobile phone, but also syncs up your calendar appointments. It supports more than 800 mobile phones and is also free. It supports Outlook, Lotus Notes, and Gmail. It also has a mobile email software that you download and install on your phone.
Overall, there are a good number of free services out there that you can use to get email on your mobile device. Never again do you have to be jealous of the Blackberry users again!

Hi,
I use emoze to synchronize with my corporate e-mail id. I downloaded emoze via computer, transferred to my mobile (Nokia 3530 – pretty old model) using bluetooth connectivity, installed on mobile, put in the user/pw configuration details and it started working perfectly fine.
It works just on a basic Wap plan on my vodafone connection anywhere in the world!!
I am using nokia 7210 and want to have all email on my cell phone. What is the correct procedure and software to download. kindly suggest.
My suggestion is to get a BlackBerry! Now you can get them for free if you sign a 2 year contract, which pretty much everyone has to do anyway! Way better than using all these services.
