The only thing you can do right now is have your own email address and add or invite others to use your domain name. So, for example, if you create a domain named thejohnsonfamily.com, you can create email accounts for everyone in your family, i.e. mary@thejohnsonfamily.com, etc, etc.
Once you find a domain that is available, go ahead and fill out the information to register the domain. You’ll also have to give your cell phone number by which AOL can verify who you are by sending a text message with a pin to your phone. Enter the pin that you receive and you’ll now be able to log into your account.
You can now login into AOL web mail (use the full email address) and start sending and receiving messages. You can create up to 100 accounts on your personalized domain for family, friends, or business associates.
So go ahead and have fun! I just created my own email address, tested it out and it works fine! Really don’t understand how this is possible, but it’s definitely really cool! Enjoy!

Email: Create a Customized Email Domain with My eAddress · TechBlogger Says:
[…] Create your own customized email domain (you know, the part after the “@” symbol) for free with a new service from AOL called My eAddress. You’ll only be able to snatch up domains that are not currently in-use, so you won’t be able to “fake” being a Lifehacker editor with yourname@lifehacker.com—sorry folks. However, presuming your last name is not already taken you could use yourfirstname@yourlastname.com. Unfortunately, this service is definitely AOL-centric and will not let you forward your emails to any other account (including POP). Since you can manage multiple accounts with Gmail you’ll be able to send email from your new domain, but you’d have to manually go out to AOL’s web interface to read your email. Another bummer about the service is that AOL forces you to use SMS to confirm your account. While this is a pretty cool service for creating imaginative email addresses, something freaks me out about giving AOL my cellphone number. If you’re in the same boat, you can buy the domain yourself and future-proof your custom email address. Thanks, Aseem! My eAddress [AOL via Computer Tips From A Computer Guy] […]

Hey brother
will like to make some corrections
please dont mind them:-

Well, if you’re looking for a custom email address with a custom domain name and you’d like it all for free, there is really only one option at this time, AOL’s My eAddress.
Hmm this information is a bit wrong.
Many other services are there. 2 of the most popular are google apps which not only provides you email but also many other features and is really powerful.
The other one is WIndows Live Domains which i have not et tried but will try it soon.
But i have heard from my friends that it is also nice(not as google apps)
hope this information helps

Hey Siddharth,
That’s actually not true…Google Apps for domain assumes you already HAVE YOUR OWN domain that you can then migrate to Google Apps! If you DO NOT already have a domain, you have to purchase one…read this!
https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/domain/new
So actually, the AOL service is the only one out there that I could find that actually registers your domain for no cost to you! I think same thing applies to Windows Live Domains!
so u mean to say that we can get email@domain.com without even actually registering the domain.com ??????
If yes then it is pretty cool
sorry
If you do use “bring your own domain” with the AOL service, does AOL then assume ownership of the domain?
Yes they do take complete ownership of your domain, so that’s why it probably not worth moving a domain you already have to AOL. Just use this service to get a free domain for fun or for your family.
