I connected my Sony Vaio Laptop to Sony Bravia LCD TV....however, the LCD Monitor does not show fullscreen. Also, when I run a movie on my laptop, it displays on the lcd, however, there is no audio on the TV?

ANSWER TO BLACK AND WHITE VIDEO

If you are using a S-Video Cable or S-Video Cable adapter, check how many pins are in the S-Video end of the plug (connecting to PC). If there are only 4 pins, you will only get black and white. You need a better cable/adapter. I have 2 pcs hooked up to 2 tvs in 2 locations. I use a S-Video-to-RCA adapter on both. On one there are 4 pins and I get black and white. On the other there are at least 7 (from my memory) and I get full colour.

S-Video will support color, but only analog signals and standard definition (old). Even composite supports color (RCA yellow jack), but again only analog St Def.

Neither S-Video or composite carry audio. That must be wired separately. Same is true for VGA.

If nothing is showing up on the TV, perhaps double check that you have the TV set to the right input.

Maybe the blu-ray is not working because it is locked due to some obscure licensing/legal reason. If everything else (website, Hulu, etc) shows up fine on your TV monitor. This is just a guess. If the problem continues, you just have to contact the mfg of your laptop.
