I downloaded Freecorder 5 and my Anti-virus software detected a threat and deleted same.
I’m not sure the download is safe to install so I securely removed it from my computer.
Just thought everyone might want to know.

I have downloaded the FREECORDER standalone last moth, it is a great recorder internet audio, but one week I later I reinstall My windows XP so my freecorder already removed as well. I want to re-install back the Freecorder but I forgot to save the Installer and try to search in google but cannot find. Anyone could help me where I find the FREECORDER STANDALONE (I am only interested in standalone since it’s simple and easy)

The quality of sound recorded in FreeCorder is very good. Its close to the original. Whereas , he quality of sound recorded in MP3MyMP3 Recorder is bad.

I downloaded Mp3toMp3, but when i run, it threw an error on me:
“This application requires an Xtra (MediaPlayer expanded)”

I wish to confirm the post no. 76 which identified spyware/adware in the Freecorder Toolbar. It contains an add-on identified as “Search Conduit” which routes your Google search through their search conduit which may or may not route you to a non-related web page. I discovered the “intrusion” when I was in the secure mode with my online bank. When I clicked on “account activity,” it was also routed through the search conduit!

Needless to say, Freecorder has been uninstalled!

As for the recording function, I found the max length of any recording to be 2 minutes and playback quality SICK!

Beware, you get what you pay for!!!

Now, Freecorder I’m happy with. No spyware and no adware. And I can buy advanced versions of the program if needed. This, I like.

I just went to download MP3MyMP3 and Kaspersky went nuts when it audited the file. It contained adware. I have no problem with donating what I would have spent for songs this year for this program. I do have problems with adware installed on my computer without a warning that the program contains it.

Anyone know of any other program besides these two?

Thanks, this is very good software. I can now record songs from these streaming music sites and save them on my hard drive. Great!

Freecorder does not work with XP. IE crashes and Firefox does nothing.

For recording audio, I use Macvide Audio Recorder. It’s a program that can record many different formats of sound. Try it.

i’ve been searching for a way to capture some songs from an artist page in a social network, hopefully this will do it. if not, i’ll find some other way eventually, jaja.

Hi again.

Ok, I’ve gone through the various software suggestions listed her to run on windows vista. Soundtap keeps on crashing, and even crashing the entire computor. As I said previously Freecorder didn’t work properly. Screamer also didn’t work properly and failed to save files correctly. Station ripper looks like it might have potential – I didn’t test that one on its own, Soundtap was also running..and the computor crashing. In particular the pay version of Station ripper looks sound – you can record a multitude of stations at once, and it automatically loads and runs Shoutcast, which has many of the stations you might like. It doesn’t record what is coming through the computor speakers type thing, it independently accesses the station/s you want..and records. You can also play the stream live through the speakers.

I wanted a recorded that would simply record what was coming through the computor speakers, without separating the stream out into individual tracks…so I could record an hour or two for download onto the mobile phone mp3 player. This program appears to be doing that task successfully:

…it cost about 20 pounds. You can also set it up to record at a specific time.

An annoying problem has developed with freecorder…it has started separating the recording out into micro blips of sound, instead of one long track…these gradually increase exponentially as they progress.

I started out with Audacity, but after a few years I weakened and paid for the Total Recorder program. Works fine and I’ve been using it for a couple of years now. Sometimes it’s easier to pay for something than spend years trying to work out to get it for free.
