The third tip worked for me on my Windows XP Home Version 5.1 Service Pack 3 computer. I looked in C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

and then deleted the undesired files. I also changed "Owner" in the path above to the other users and checked those folders. THANKS!

Excelente la información de "Cómo borrar fondos de escritorio" (indeseados), ya que varios son horribles y no prestan ninguna utilidad. Al fin pude hacerlo.

Hi, I have a Windows Vista computer and I find lots of pictures on the Internet that I would like to add on my desktop, but I can only add one at a time. Is there a way to add many pictures to the wallpapers folder?

How do you remove the wallpapers from the Web/Wallpaper in Win 7. They wont delete, and I cant locate the (img13) in regedit. I cant delete them in "safe mode" either. It says I need permission from "TrustedInstaller". I am the "administrator", and I cant uninstall "TrustedInstaller" so it will stop protecting my windows wallpapers.

Great info... thanks. Whoa.... something went wrong when I tried to "add" a pix to the Wallpaper. I went to "My Photos", picked out a photo, added it...and the whole photo folder is now in the Wallpaper list. How do I get rid of about 100 photos in that list without deleting them from my computer? I want to keep them... just not in the Wallpaper list.

When looking for the BMP wallpapers in C:\Windows, you can change the view to Details view and then sort by clicking on the Type column header. They will be grouped together as Bitmap Image files.

When searching for the Internet Explorer Wallpaper, i.e. the one where you right-click on an image in IE and select Set as Background, be aware that the Application Data folder in the path C:\Documents and Settings\[user name]\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer is hidden by default. To unhide it, go to Tools > Folder Options, click on the View tab, and click the "Show hidden files and folders" radio button.

(If you want to keep that image and didn't save it separately, you'll need to go to that directory and copy it to another location because the next time you set a wallpaper using IE it will overwrite the current one.)

Also, if you put JPEG files in the My Pictures folder, they will show up in the wallpapers list.
