How to watermark photos and images using Windows Live Writer

If you have write a blog and include a lot of pictures in your posts, it may be a good idea to add a watermark to your images before you post them so that it is hard for others to steal your work.

Previously, I wrote about a free service called Pic Markr that lets you watermark images and photos online quickly and easily. This is useful if you need to watermark just a couple of images, but if you write a lot of blog posts, it can become very tedious.

Luckily, for bloggers, watermarking your images is now a very simple task that can be accomplished using Windows Live Writer. Windows Live Writer is a free blog editor that makes writing and publishing blog content way easier than using the admin panel in WordPress.

So how can you watermark an image while you are writing a post in Windows Live Writer? First, you want to insert an image into the post and click on the image to select it.

On the right hand tab, you’ll see three tabs: Picture, Advanced and Effects. Depending on the version of Windows Live Writer you have installed, the watermark feature could be in one of two places.

If you have not yet upgraded to the very latest version, then click on the Effects tab, click the green + button, choose Overlays and then Watermark.

Now you’ll see the options for watermarking the image. You type in the text that you want to appear, then choose the font family and font size, and finally choose the position, which can be Bottom Right, Bottom Left, Centered, Top Left, or Top Right.

If you are running the new version of Windows Live Writer, you can simply click on the Advanced tab and then select Watermark at the very bottom.

That’s it! Now you can easily watermark all of your photos and images using Windows Live Writer. Of course, this is mostly useful for bloggers only, but it’s still pretty useful. Enjoy! [via NirmalTV]
