On mac try using SAFARI instead of Firefox. Right-click and select “What’s here?” at the bottom of the upcoming dialog. The coordinates will show in the search field at the top of the screen.

I found another way to do it is get directions button it will bring up a very direct and accurate set of coordinates pretty simply.

@Schantell: if you copy/paste your coordinates in http://maps.google.com/, you end up in Zambia, very close to the border with Zimbabwe… at something that seemes to be called ‘mvuu lodge’…

You can convert gps coordinatates you get from google maps to something a tomtom or garmin can understand.
With some place in London as an example: 40.771166,-73.974209 after conversion will be: N 51 30 0.5, W 0 7 34.4
I don’t know about a garmin, but in a tomtom you would have to type in this: N51°30’0.5, W0°7’34.4

I am finding coordinates so confusing. My Garmin hand held etrex GPS has a dozen or so systems to choose from. I am using UTM UPS system, but it does not seem to be the same as what I find on maps or on my Navigon car GPS. None of the coordinates match what I see on Google maps. How do I reconcile all of these?

coordinates will appear in search tab (on the top)

I tried all these methods of finding co-ordinates – none of them worked for me. Perhaps they’re not compatible with the Mac OSX – 10.4.11 I use.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.
