Hi, thanks for this great software. It's working fine with my USB Flash drive. U think it will also work on an external USB drive with one time eject. Or do I need something else for that? Can you let me know. Using Window 7. Thanks once again.

@Ron korn: yes ofcourse, hassle free to remove your usb external device from computer, after shutdown of ur pc..
as windows will relocate all the files and simply keep them in correct postions its shutdown..

but if u unplugged ur anyexternal device when windows is accesiing that device, then u may b in trouble, as the files may be corrupted or may not availabe to read..

If I have a USB external hardrive and just shut down my computer can I just unplug the USB from the external hardrive? Or do I risk distruption of the data on the hard drive? I often forget to unplug the USB from the external before a close down my computer.

Yours truly,
Ron

Windows' tray icon also fits the purpose: instead of right-clicking it, try LEFT clicking it. You'll see a popup menu where you get to choose which device to immediately remove, no dialog boxes to wander through :)

Nice post. Will it forcibly remove the pen drive? For example, whenever we try to remove drive that's in use we get an error. Is it the same with USB Disk Ejector?

Awesome tip!! I've been using the Safely Remove Hardware for years, but this seems like such a better way to eject a USB device. Thanks again!
