Creating online photo albums using Microsoft Live SkyDrive

We have written about SkyDrive last year with an initial offering of 500MB. Now it can store your files securely for up to 25G of free space! 25G, that is like the capacity of my hard disk 10 years ago! So what can we do with a 25G of space?
Well, it is not too much if you have lots of high definition pictures and videos coming from your digicams and with the help from a blogging software like Windows Live Writer, you can make an instant SkyDrive photo album.
To create your own photo album for your blogs, open up Windows Live Writer (which you could get here: http://get.live.com/) then click File > New Post.
Click the insert menu then click Photo album:
Click Login to use your Windows Live account:
Now that we have logged in, we can start creating albums and then add pictures to it:
Click Add Photos to open up a dialog window where you can add photo files then click Insert to insert the album to your blow. See the actual example of the photo album below:
Now what if we want to restrict the privacy of the album, we can use the “Set Album Privacy” window to do that:
Also, if we need to go back to add/edit the pictures inside the album, we can click the “Edit Photo Album” link:
That’s it! The great thing about this is that you can have the blog hosted on another server but the pictures are hosted on SkyDrive. This saves you a lot of space in your paid web server.
Furthermore, if you are not happy with the default alignment of the album, you can change it to one of the predefined styles:
Here is the same album using “Scatter”:
Isn’t this a stylish way of sharing your pictures without having to worry about scripting and coding? The combination of ShareDrive and Live Writer lets you do this very easily in a few easy steps.
Ben Carigtan shows you how it’s done.
