How to convert BMP to JPG

Looking for a way to change from BMP to JPG format? This is a common issue that a lot of people seem to run into, more than I would have thought! Luckily, it’s a fairly simple task to convert between these two formats and you don’t even have to install any additional software on your computer to do it.
If you don’t have Photoshop or some other photo editing software on your computer, you can use Paint to convert from BMP to JPG. Here’s how to do it:
First open Microsoft Paint by going to Start, All Programs, Accessories and then Paint.
Now open the BMP file in Paint. Now all you have to do to save the file in JPG format is to simple do a Save As. Change the File Type drop down menu to JPG and click Save.
Easy as heck! If for some ungodly reason you cannot access Paint on your computer or do not have it installed, you can still convert from BMP to JPG using a service called Zamzar, a free online file converting tool.
For Step 1, click Browse and choose the BMP file you want to convert. Next choose the format you want to convert the BMP to: gif, ico, jpg, pcx, png, ps, tga, or tiff. Enter your email address and after a little while you’ll get an email with a download link to your converted image file!
You can also use Zamzar to convert from JPG to any other image file format, same for GIF, etc, etc. It’s a pretty amazing tool and it’s completely free. Enjoy!
