Last night Yahoo released two new cool features, one for maps and the other for shopping. Using MapMixer you can take a map that’s already been created, like a University map for example, and then overlay that map onto Yahoo maps with full support for zooming and panning. MapMixer morphs a Yahoo map with your own images to create a hybrid map.
The example map shown below takes the Unviersity of Southern California campus map and overlays it onto Yahoo maps. Yahoo automatically creates 5 levels of zoom and detail for your map, so you don’t have to worry about any of that. You simply have to get it aligned and scaled correctly.

StarOffice uses the same code base as OpenOffice, but StarOffice has added a number of features, including a spell-checker, thesaurus, Windows fonts, and clipart.

Windows Live Search Images facial recognition filters are probably the coolest thing to be added to search since Google came along. It’s quite impressive and very addicting! The new filters allow you to search for a face, a portrait photo, or for black and white photos.
For example, here’s how a regular search for “Bill Gates” would look like without the filters:

As you can see, there are close ups, photos of him at conferences, caricatures, and group photos. Now if you search with the face filter as so: “bill gates” filter:face, you get the following:
