Customize your Firefox theme using Personas

Changing the look and feel of your Firefox 3 browser could take a couple of steps. Traditionally a user will need to get individual themes from the web and then install them individually. In Firefox, there is a lightweight theme where basic portions of the browser’s look is modified.
This allows web developers to provide instantly downloaded themes without installing the theme. With Firefox Personas you have to follow steps to change themes (compared to traditional downloadable themes). Personas is a plugin currently being tested on Mozilla Labs. Although in its testing stage, it amused me enough because it works fine with Firefox 3.
Convert GIF, JPEG picture to icon for free

Earlier I wrote a post about a program called ImagIcon, a free utility that can be used to convert an image into an icon. You could take a BMP, JPEG, PNG, or GIF and instantly convert it into ICO (Windows Icon) format. Once in icon format, you can then use the custom icon on a folder or file, etc.
ToyCon is another program that lets you convert multiple image formats to ICO format and also lets you convert ICO files to PNG image files. So if this does the same thing as ImagIcon, then why even mention it right?
Manage Firefox proxies easily with FoxyProxy

With more and more users having multiple Internet service providers, managing multiple proxies has become a common task. Usually we will need to go to the connection settings and then manually type in the proxy servers for each protocol:
If you have multiple proxy servers, switching between them would be a great hassle since you will need to type in the server names every time you change it. These server names are not persistently saved on a drop down list so there is no other way but to type them in. If your HTTP proxy is different from your FTP proxy or other protocols, it could get messier and harder to maintain.

Index Your File - Fast file search program for Windows

Have you ever had to try and find a file quickly in a very large directory structure, like a network drive? Working in IT, this happens to be all the time. I’m sitting on my own computer or someone else’s computer and I suddenly need to file one file on the network server.
Too bad the network drive has thousands of folders and thousands of files, making it extremely difficult to find the file manually. Earlier, I wrote about how to find lost files on your hard drive using the basic Windows search or by using a third party program like Google Desktop.
Determine hexadecimal RGB color of anything on the screen

For serious color identification, it is important that we understand the RGB (red, green and blue) color signature. The idea of using RGB values to identify colors is taken from the color theory that colors are a combination of the three primary colors (red, green, and blue).
RGB is usually denoted using a hexadecimal triplet. A pure Blue for example is denoted as #0000FF where the first two 0’s designated red; the next two 0’s for green and the two F’s for blue. For web and interface designers, it is important to understand the colors used on their projects to make sure that the monitor display could handle the colors correctly.
