While we do not always have quick access to a scanner, most of us almost always have access to the camera on our cell phones. So, in a pinch, we can take a picture of a document and send it to whoever needs it. However, photographed documents look unprofessional and can be hard to read.

Open PDFs in Firefox without Adobe Reader

The latest Adobe X update reportedly does not play well with the latest version of Firefox. Many users report that when they try to open a PDF in Firefox, they are unable to scroll to see the entire document. Most of the time, the window locks and must be closed—or Firefox must be restarted.
Fortunately, many Adobe Reader alternatives are available for viewing PDFs in Firefox. One of our favorites is Foxit Reader.
Click the Download link on the right of the Foxit Reader page and save the file to your computer. Once downloaded, install Foxit Reader.

I’ve written about creating panoramas before, namely using AutoStitch and AutoPano. Both of these are great programs, but I ran across another one that I really liked and figured I should mention since it’s free and open source.
Hugin is a cross-platform panoramic imaging tool that is very easy to use. It’s also very powerful and has a lot of advanced options that you can adjust if you choose to do so. They also have a large number of tutorials on the site so you can quickly learn the advanced stuff too if you like.
