How to backup your blog using Feedburner and Gmail

Here’s a really simply and easy to implement way to back up your blog using two of my favorite tools: Gmail and Feedburner. There are many ways you can go about backing up your blog right now, such as using an online tool like BlogBackupOnline, using WordPress plugins like WP Database Backup, or by simply using FTP to download everything to your computer.

I have joined in on several group writing projects, i.e. BlueJar, DailyBlogTips, etc and think they are absolutely great because you get to network with fellow bloggers, get your blog some exposure, and write about what you enjoy.

BritePic is a very interesting new service that "brings life to your images" by allowing you to morph your boring static images into fully interactive flash-enabled and money making "BritePics"! Other than another way to make money through ads, BritePic is also very cool to use because it adds lots of functionality to an image that you otherwise cannot get!

How I lost all my Google traffic because I didn’t back up my site

I just experienced a blogger’s worst nightmare: My hosting company’s server crashed, most of the data was LOST, my site was down for two full days, and I lost all of my traffic! And on top of that all, I was not even in town when this happened, so I could not fix the problem till I got back home because I didn’t have any remote backups. So after blogging for 6 months and increasing my traffic slowly but steadily to almost 1200 visitors a day, I am now getting a whopping 45 visitors from Google!

Here are a few Wordpress security tips I’ve learned over time. After reading a couple of horror stories about blogs being hacked, maimed and mutilated by crazy Russians or vindictive competitors, I’ve decided to it would be good idea to implement some security practices for my WordPress blog. Ok, so it seems like everyone and anyone starting a blog or "optimizing" their blog is concerned about duplicate content penalties from Google and so have devised a an entire slew of remedies from adding all kinds of disallow statements to their robots.txt files to installing SEO-optimized duplicate-content-curing plugins for WordPress, etc.
