If you’re a blogger and you have ads on your site, you probably have heard the term “ad optimization” before. Especially if you’re using an ad network like Google Adsense, you’ve probably read a hundred articles on optimizing layout, colors, size, location, etc, etc for your Adsense ads.
But most people do not bother with manually tests because it simply takes too long and it’s too tedious to sit and watch, compare, adjust and start over again. That’s why a couple of smart people come out with a way to automate the whole process of ad optimization.

2007 was first year for Online Tech Tips and it’s been a pretty nice run so far. I started in March of 2007 and currently have 600+ posts on the site. The blog is still a side job, but hopefully by the end of 2008 it can become full-time!
I’m going to try and list out my best posts of all time for 2007 and the best posts for each month on the year. Hopefully, it can be a good reading for anyone interested in some cool technology tips! Check them out if you have time!
Online Tech Tips blogging goals for 2008

DailyBlogTips is running a cool group writing project where everyone is supposed to write a post about their 2008 goals for blogging. I’m participating because not only are the prizes great (free themes), but it’s also a good way to actually set up some realistic goals and try to achieve them for the next year!
I started this blog in March of 2007 and it’s been exceeding my expectations for far in terms of traffic and money, but like the perfectionist I like to be, I want it to be way better in many ways! So here’s my list of goals that I HOPE to reach in 2008!
Website statistics and blog income report for November 2007

This is the first time on Online Tech Tips that I will post a monthly report on website statistics for the last month in terms of traffic and blog income. Even though this blog has been around since March 2007, I only monetized my blog in October of 2007. Since I started in the middle of the month, I thought it would be better to start a report after a full month of data.

Online ad optimization is one of those things that has gone from pretty simple and easy to ridiculously complicated and confusing. Bloggers and webmasters can now pick from hundreds of advertising network to monetize their web sites, including big names like Google Adsense to speciality niche companies no one has ever heard of.
However, trying to pick and choose the best ads for your type of traffic and demographics is pretty much impossible. There are simply too many choices and too little time to try out and test different ad systems. Thankfully though, people have seen this as major problem and a few companies are starting to do something about it with automated ad optimization technologies.
