I usually write about computer tips that help me, such as today when I wanted to hide some of the icons in my system tray on Windows XP. After a point, my system tray starts to cross the halfway mark on my screen and that’s a problem! Because I write this blog, I usually install lots of software so that I can test it before writing about it, but it also means my system tray is a disaster.

Doesn’t it bother you that all Adobe products, like Acrobat Reader take like 15 minutes to load? I’ve replaced Acrobat Reader with Foxit Reader and PDF-XChange Viewer because both of these launch so much faster! And don’t even get me started on how slowly Adobe Photoshop loads! And when you watch the startup splash screens, it seems like their are a millions different modules and plug-ins that keep loading.

Recently, however, I learned a cool trick whereby you can significantly increase the load speed of Adobe Acrobat Reader or the Standard and Professional versions also.

FileMenu Tools is a a freeware application that you can use to customize and edit the right-click context menu for Explorer in Windows XP and Windows Vista. It’s a small nifty little app that makes it super easy to add and remove menu items to the context menu. You can add built-in utilities to the context menu that perform certain operations over files and folders.
